Since the time of collaboration, EU government is focusing heavily on agriculture; though
CAP policies have been beneficial for the region as it helped in reducing its dependence on
imported products (Sinn, 2002). There are different authors who claim that CAP is inducing
poverty in developing countries as it forces farmers to export large amount of agricultural
product due to inability to compete on the prices. I would also agree with the discussion that
support given on dairy is causing ignorance towards the growth of other food products such
as fruits, vegetables etc (Fields, 2004). Only rich countries are getting benefited from this
policy and poor countries are facing problem due to unfair market competition.
The health scenario in EU is not so pleasant, according to the report given by WHO; almost
56 percent of the adult population in the region is overweight. Out of all health problems,
obesity is a major diseases widely dispersed in the region (European Commission, 2009). I
would say CAP involves hug governmental...
