Due Date and Time Session 9 Word Count: 2000 Weighting 30% Submission In Turnitin Assessment Description  Assessment 3 will familiarize students with case studies related to local or global scenarios.  You will work individually to prepare a project on 2 case studies related to any current issue affecting at the local, national or global scale and give answers to two (2) questions from each case study (questions may be given in the case study or you can prepare on your own).  You will write an additional case study either on real personal experience or a hypothetical one and answer 2 self generated questions.  Must include:  Title Page-It should give the name of the case study and the name of the topic of ethics to which it belongs to.  Introduction  Brief description of each case study  Your Argument  Ethical Decision Making Approaches & Theories o Explain which ethical decision making approaches and theories your relied upon to reach your conclusions and why.  2 Questions and answers to each case study ( For all 3)  Reference List Research Requirements • Research required supporting discussion and analysis in report. Introduction
Ethics can be defined as moral principles that rule a person’s behavior or in the conduction of an activity. It can also be determined as a building of knowledge that consists of moral principles and ethical values. Ethical decision making refers to the evaluation of process and selecting among various alternatives in such a way that it is chosen in a manner which is compatible with ethical principles. An ethical dilemma is a situation where a person has to make one decision out of two or more understandable alternatives which supports the ethical principles and moral values.

In this report three case studies related to ethical decision making will be discussed. Two case studies out of the three are real life examples and one of them will be hypothetically formed. Real life case studies will be based on KPMG scandal and Maggie Scandal where as hypothetical case study will be taken hypothetically. Arguments based on case study will be provided and ethical approach that will be use to support the argument will also be stressed. Based on each case study two questions will be raised and the answers for the same will also be provided.

The case study is based on the company Nestle, mainly one of its products Maggie, which is very famous globally. A discussion has been made on the Maggie’s which is most loved by all, but failed to comply with the safety standards of the respected country. Nestle Maggie noodles or MNC food was responsible for creating the promotional and marketing liability dilemmas in ethics worldwide and the company also influenced the environment and healthy behavior of India (Roy, Tata and Parsad, 2018). This issue violated safety measure of the country as well as the business ethics. It was examined that the company was using a very high content of Mono Sodium Glutamate (MSG). The issue was serious and had a tendency to reduce the IQ level of children as well as it directs to increase illness chance in pregnant ladies. The issue was expected to be taken very seriously from the view point of safety by following the safety and ethical principles. The reason leads to Maggie lovers changing into haters of Maggie. The company was using a high level of lead which was found to be 17 times more in quantity as compared to the limit which is prescribed for the companies. Different ethical decision making theories and approaches will be stressed in this report for suggesting different solutions related to ethics.
Case study 2
A dollar 50 million fine was imposed of KPMG LLP for stealing regulatory information to cheat in audit inspections. Some internal test which was related to ethics, integrity, and compliance were also conducted but found to be cheated on by KPMG auditors with the view of making the positive passing score for the company. The new test cheating scandal was found to be dangerous and alarming because this unethical behavior continued to be longer and also found to be more wide spread. Audit deficiency test was conducted at KPMG by the PCAOB, a formal official was charged in case of interference in between. KPMG had been violating the security laws and also aim to evaluate quality controls which are related to ethics and integrity and focus shall remain on audit professionals that may tend to violate ethics and integrity (McKenna et al., 2020). KPMG on order by the SEC was expected to hire a consultant so that firm’s ethics and integrity can be preserved and the scandal can easily be looked upon.
