i. Scenario1:
The textbook you use for your course is very expensive, and only half of the book is used for the classes. Your classmate doesn’t want to buy one from the bookstore, so they ask to scan and make a copy of the 5 chapters from your book.
· Would you let your classmate make a copy of your book?
· Explain why you would/would not let them do this and how does this relate to the organisational copyright policy and copyright laws.
ii. Scenario 2:
You found an image on the website for royalty free images which you would like to use in your upcoming presentation.
· Insert a screenshot of the image from the following link:

· Include a reference/attribution as per requirements of the South Metropolitan TAFE - Student Copyright Policy and as per licensing requirements of the source.
· Explain why it is important to give attribution to the creator of the material and how does this relate to the organisational copyright policy and copyright laws and standards.

iii. Scenario 3:
You and your friend have come up with an innovative idea for a mobile application. The application is new on the market and has a potential to become very popular.
You decide to develop a non-disclosure agreement in order to protect the confidentiality of the information and to protect your own and your friend’s proprietary rights.
· Use the Intellectual Property contract generator available on IP Australia’s website:
IP contract Generator.
· The contract must be ‘mutual’ and between two ‘individuals’.
· You can use a fictional company’s name.
· Submit the generated contract together with your assessment.
· Research information about the Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDA) on IP Australia website.
Explain how NDAs can help you protect the confidentiality of the information and your or other people’s proprietary rights.
Q3 Contributing to copyright policy
A. You were assigned by your manager to review the copyright policy and add some missing information to the policy and relevant copyright procedures.
i. Add a new section to the cu
ent South Metropolitan TAFE - Student Copyright Policy
You may use the Information Sheet on ‘Protecting Your Copyright’ by the Australian Copyright Council to help you complete this task.
ii. Make sure the new section of the copyright policy contains the following information:
· Protecting your own copyright:
· How to get copyright protection?
· How does copyright protect my work?
· Procedure:
· How to prove copyright ownership without registration.
iii. Use South Metropolitan TAFE APA7 Style Referencing Guide to include the attribution to the source of the information you used to write this section.
Direct copying of the text from the information sheet is not allowed.
iv. Submit the updated Copyright Policy with your assessment documentation.
B. Distribute the updated copyright policy to two (2) classmates via the student email.
i. Attach your updated copyright policy to the email
ii. Make sure your email looks professional and includes the following information:

End of Assessments Task 1.1
INFORMATION FOR STUDENTS
Purpose of Assessment
Student must be able to demonstrate the understanding and skills required to:
· maintain professional and ethical conduct, as well as to ensure that personal information of stakeholders is handled in a confidential and professional manner when dealing with stakeholders in an information and communications technology (ICT) environment.
Complete the following assessment in class or online, no plagiarism allowed and no copying from other students otherwise a resit will be required.

· Students can either present in Blackboard collaborate as a group. They can share their screen with the presentation and provide commentary
· Or individually using zoom.
· Alternatively, record yourself delivering the presentation at home and submit/share video file via OneDrive so it can be downloaded for record-keeping.
· You may record audio onto each PowerPoint slide.

Assessment Presentation and Submission
Read through and answer the following questions in each of the three sections. The resources to assist you answer the questions are located within each of the course sections and associated resources.
· Please provide detailed answers for your response to each question.
· Create a series of PowerPoint slides for your Presentation.
· Questions can be answered into the Word template located on Blackboard.
All questions and activities should be attempted.
Use of research tools and peers in formulating answers are acceptable – but work submitted must be your own work.

If you are marked as NYS (Not Yet Satisfactory) on your first attempt, you will be provided with another opportunity to re-attempt the assessment at the discretion of the lecturer.
