Starbucks: New CSR - Corporate Social Responsibility
Clearly identify and define the new CSR initiative
The new initiative of Starbucks is to develop 10000 Greener Stores which will use fully renewable energy to operate its business. This initiative will be completed by 2025 and region targeted for this initiative is North America. This program is supported by Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) and will help other retailers to support this initiative (Tom Ryan, 2018). 
Thus green marketing is a process of selling good and service in order to deliver ecological advantages and is eco-friendly (G. Deepalakshmi, 2019).  
Assess the sustainability of the initiative
Sustainable assessment is a process of directing the planning and helps in the decision making process towards attaining the sustainable development (Hacking and Guthrie, 2008). To initiate this process there are various sustainable tools and techniques used to understand the process and present the data in a manner which can help in the decision making process (Gasparatos et al., 2009). The various sustainable benefits of the green initiatives for Starbucks are as follows:
1. Increasing the efficiency in water and energy by conserving water by 30% and saving the energy by more than 25%. This can be done by designing and restructuring of the traditional stores.
2. Energizing all the 10000 stores in North America by 100% renewable energy by investing and edifying the solar and wind energy.
3. Creating and promoting a well equipped atmosphere for the employees and the customers by addressing the issues like light, air, temperature and noise.
4. Ensuring that the goods and services Starbucks are stored with responsibility and are sustainable.
5. Using recycling methods and new design for management and reduction of wastes in Starbucks. This will be cost effective as well for Starbucks. 
6. Creating a sustainable culture which helps to empower the employees by being informed, take necessary actions and are aware of the sustainable policies and practice (Starbucks, 2018).
