Ethical Issues:
Introduction:
The issues which occur when a given decision or an activity creates a conflict within a societies or an organisations moral principles are the ethical issues. In such cases both individuals and the organisation can be involved and hence due to their activities can create a doubt on the ethical standpoint. Few ethical issues which are prevalent these days are sexual harassment, data privacy, use of social media at workplace and even favouritism at the time of yearly appraisal and promotions of employees.
Issue discussion 1:
This issue is at the Australian plant of the cosmetics company called as “Lush”. The workers from the company had raised their voices saying that the working conditions is very poor and hence they had suffered physical injuries and also had problems in
eathing. These workers also complained that they were not given adequate handling equipment’s and protective gears to lift materials in the factories, due to which many suffered wrist injuries and developed back pain. These local workers generally make homemade products like soaps, shampoos, bath bombs and other cosmetics. Proper working condition is a must as all the workers need this basic standard to be met at the workplace where it is mostly physical work. If there is an issue in meeting these standards than it means the basic ethics is compromised and hence the ethical issue. The supervisors also indulge in misbehaviour and harassment of the workforce at times. Even the factory management was accused of not calling an ambulance when one of the workers suffered a major injury in the head and shoulder while lifting loads.
