Weighting 10%
Total Marks 100 marks
Context
This assessment provides an opportunity for you to begin to explore how ethics have played
a part in your professional life. You will have the opportunity to focus on one situation and
analyse it from a range of ethical perspectives with the aim of understanding:
(a) how ethics is part of your day-to-day professional practice, and
(b) how your cu
ent thinking about ethical issues influences your professional practice.
You will develop the skill to identify and describe an ethical issue, articulate the various
choices you have available to you and discuss how you determine what actions you should
take. You will also develop your written skills by presenting a coherent description of an event,
demonstrating the capacity to reflect on your behaviour.
The assignment will help you to develop an ‘ethical mindset’ when making workplace
decisions and learn to identify the ethical frameworks that inform those decisions.

Ethics issues in an Organization
I am sure that while working in an organization, almost all of us might have faced an ethical dilemma at some point of time. I will be sharing my experience in this regard as well. I was working with a financial organization dealing with mortgages. Around 10 of us had joined the organization together as trainees, just fresh out of graduation. Our team leader had paired us into groups of two and given us projects to work on. My friend and I were the ones who were able to complete the loan first. Once reporting to our boss was done, he wanted only me to present it in front of the manager and this had a high chance of getting me promoted. But this seemed unethical to me. After a lot of thinking, I...
