Ethics in the News Assignment
Ethics in the News Assignment
Description: This analytical, individual assignment is worth 20% of your final grade.
You must submit two analyses of news articles of approximately two double-spaced
pages each, and you may submit an optional third to replace a lower grade on one of the
first two.
Please find a news article about a contemporary ethical dilemma. This may be either a
specific dilemma a company is facing or an ethical scandal we have not discussed in
class. The article may describe a specific incident or the norms su
ounding a particula
workplace behavior more generally.
Submission: These assignments may be submitted throughout the semester by email
or through Blackboard, and they will be returned within one week of submission with
comments. In case you do not hear back within one week of submission, contact me
immediately. The last possible date to submit these is the last teaching day of the
semester (not the date of the final exam). I recommend submitting significantly earlier,
however, to ensure adequate time to find an appropriate article and write the analyses.
Grading Criteria: This is an opportunity to use the knowledge you acquired in class in
order to analyze contemporary issues in business ethics. Please be concise and focused
in your analysis of the ethical issue or dilemma elaborated in an article you find.
In your analysis, focus on the following key points:
1) What is the issue being discussed in the article? Provide a
ief summary and
analysis of the ethical dilemma(s) or issue involved.
2) Provide an analysis of arguments that could be made for two or more ways the
ethical dilemma in question might be decided. Alternatively, you may analyze an
ethical scandal (one we have not discussed in class). What makes the situation
described in the article unethical? For either approach, please make use of some
of the theory or ethical frameworks in your textbook or discussed in class.
3) Finally, how would you personally resolve or approach the ethical dilemma in
question? Please provide arguments grounded in theory as part of you
justification.
Grading will be based primarily on addressing these points. The depth, precision and
originality of your response is also a key factor.

Summary
From the article of Brown (2019), it is stated in a recent article on conceptual ethics that philosophers should avoid from adopting the phrase "fake news," which has been extensively utilized in public discussions about the epistemic health of democracy. The purpose of this short discussion note is to express my disagreement with that assertion and to explore each of the three arguments given in favor of the conclusion that this idea should be discontinued.
Analysis
Question 1
According to this article it is analyzed that how fake news is aiming the discussion the propagandistic objectives and aims to the conceptual ethics. In this particular article, the use of fake news in the conceptual it takes is concerned as the misuse of encouraging individual so that they can become engaged in Meta language discussions. This makes the person generally confused when it comes to the primary mismatch of ethics as well as news. The French law generally does not accept the fake news and they do not even agree with the fact that someone is holding up these news against political views.
For the second time, the notion of fake news rejects the idea that it is a superfluous concept since it cannot be reduced to other phrases that they regularly use to express the epistemic failure of democratic institutions. Finally, the phrase fake news does not have to be used for commercial goals, and some philosophers believe that this idea may be used without the need for philosophical scrutiny in some circumstances.
Question 2
According to the various authors, it is suggested that it is not reliable to use the fake news as for the promotional purpose because at some point of time these type of news can go beyond the ethical conception and can become a weapon that might destroy the cu
ent functions. In addition to that, a message can be there to criticize their opinion against the speakers in political factor so that the view of credibility can be undermined effectively.
In the general list of scientific manner, the intent can be claimed of fake news while risking the work directly for being such and dishonest speaker and spreading bad ideologies. However, this is not always the case because this can become so orthodox for the ethical factor as well as for the media sensations.
Based on the ethical dilemmas the individuals’ speaking without any evidence or fake news should not be trusted with any certain news or information source.

Question 3
The ethical dilemma can be solved with the help of spreading true stories in the operations of media; generally the questions can be aroused by not blaming the fact and ensuring that news sources are not biased to both the political spectrum. However, that is all the usage of wisest-taking up the media treatment principles is a ruthless asserts that should be supported by experimental confirmation.
