The abuse towards any member of the family in terms of emotional, physical, psychological or sexual is considered as domestic violence. Despite laws in the state there are cases people who are in possession of guns are big threats to their families and create an abusive su
ounding at homes. It is difficult for partners to escape such relationships and it hugely impacts their mental and physical well-being. It is one of the common problems in US which affects around 10 million people every year. As per World population review Kentucky has recorded highest number of domestic violence cases.
Review of Literature:
    The first cases of domestic violence was reported in 1973 as in those times women used confined within the walls of the house. With their empowerment and the relaxed norms of mobility the domestic violence against men were also reported. These learning gets transmitted to next generation when they become parents. They reflect that violence is approved way daling with issues in life.
    It is believed by Bradbury‐Jones and Isham XXXXXXXXXXthat domestic violence also has economic impact because it has affected the physical, mental and emotional state of children since their childhood. It has been observed tha victims losetheir jobs as they re not able to focus at workplace. Victims gets abused and in extreme cases they are murdered by their partners. It also lead to serious health implications like depression, STDs and other health issues which are a concern in the later stage of life. Victims also find inclination towards addictions of alcohol and drugs in order to escape the trauma.
    The alcohol consumption and domestic violence are found to be closely related. According to Boserup, McKenney and Elkbuli XXXXXXXXXXdue to increased umemployment during pandemic it was witnessed that the cases of domestic violence were in increase. The helpline numbers eventually observed the rise in the num
of complaints. This is due to the fact that the perpetrators led out their frustration on their partner and family. As per Kofman and Garfin XXXXXXXXXXdue to fear of beatings they refrain themselves from asking for basic amenities and allow them to high levels of alcohol.
Problem, Theory, Variables, and Hypothesis:
    
    Problem Statement: Is the problem of domestic violence an indicator towards declining family values?
    Theory: Researchers have argued various reasons like high stress levels, mental disorders, alcoholism, poor financial status, drug abuse as the leading causes of domestic violence. The theory of social learning will be used to analyze the system of relationships in childhood days which framed the behavior of an individual in his adulthood.
Variables and Hypothesis:
The independent variable is violence
The independent variable will be measured with respect to number of times its occu
ence has taken place in a family setup.
The dependent variable is physical, emotional and mental state of the abuser.
The dependent variable will be measured that how many times such a situation occurs which result to adopting violence as an escape route from problems arising out of physical, mental or emotional distu
ance.
    Hypothesis: Do domestic violence reflects the mental, physical and emotional state of person? Does it help in predicting the type of violence which will be used and the frequency of its occu
