Introduction:
• Postpartum depression is a disease which involves mild to severe behavioral disorders that develop within 6 months of delivery.
• Approximately 20% of world’s women suffer from post pregnancy depression. It is estimated that about 70-80% of women experience at least some level of stress during their pregnancy or postpartum and in some it might turns into more severe condition.
• According to Norhayati et al., 2015, it is studied that the post partum depression is higher in Asian countries, ranging from 3.5 % to 63.3% as compared to western countries.
• Studies have shown that there are numerous underlying factors which are responsible for this condition. The factors that contribute towards postpartum depression are physical, psychological, social demographic or cultural. In Asian countries, cultural practices are attributed to the main reason responsible for depression in pregnant women and after delivery. Since, many traditional rituals are imposed on women leading emotional distress and further depression. Unsatisfactory relationships, unsupportive families, unwanted pregnancies also lead to depression. Single mother is at risk of suffering from stress.
• Edinburgh postnatal depression scale is used to diagnose and measure the level of stress the mother is suffering from. It involves set of 10 questionnaires on which basis of which scored are assigned and the level is measured.
• Other methods include postpartum Depression Screening Scale (PDSS).
• Patient Health Questionnaire (PHQ-9)
• It initially starts as postpartum blues and turns into non-psychotic postpartum depression and may turn into more aggressive form puerperal psychosis which is rare.

The principal aim of the research study is to provide health advancement and health promotion about the prevalence of postpartum depression and associated risk factors in Asian countries for the benefits of the mothers and their family in health care perspective. This aim is significant to eliminate the risk factors contributing the postpartum depression of the mothers with the help of health advancement and health promotion. The aim of this research is also important in the consideration of eliminating postpartum depression to the poor and needy people to increase the research reliability, credibility and validity. In the same manner, this is also effective to furnish a right direction to researchers towards accomplishment of the research study more efficiently and effectively in the context of the prevalence of postpartum depression and associated risk factors. In this consideration, following are some objectives that can be achieved through this research study to ca
y out the aim of the research:
· To eliminate the risk factors that contributing the postpartum depression through health advancement and health promotion.
· To plan public health interventions and strategies associated with postpartum depression that should reduce the impact of depression on the mother as well as on the infant’s growth and development.
· To provide education to the common people about the equality of gender and avoiding discrimination between girls and boys.
· To plan and implement strategies under health advancement and health promotion though diagnosing the condition and treat them.
· To improve the general postpartum care of the mother by educating the partner and providing first-rate care for them in health promotion.
· The special policies should be implemented in this research process for single mothers to support them.
At this stage, the research aim and objectives through primary and secondary data collection is effective to increase the research credibility. The analysis of literatures in healthcare advancement and promotions would be effective to explore research aim and objectives. In the same manner, the questionnaire survey would be utilized in order to obtain the response of participants in health advancement and health promotion.
Background and Rationale
    The need of health advancement and health promotion randomly is considered for the women because of the prevalence of postpartum depression caused by poor health conditions and family problems or domestic violence. In the absence of awareness about elimination of the risk factors that contributing depression, mother faces trouble both physically and mentally. It is the true fact that the women’s life is based on both happiness and so
ows in a combined way (Deng et al. 2014). At the same time, it is also a real fact that which one would be faced by her in their life is impossible to recognize. Facing a big difficulty regarding postpartum depression within the first six months has been considered as a bad phase in their life.
Similarly, the postpartum depression of mother involves mild to severe behavioral disorders leads towards more severe condition or end of life. They do not know how to get relief from this problem. Therefore, to avoid such type of problems from the life of adolescent women, especially after delivery, there should be required to have an effective awareness program associated with a few important things (Deng et al. 2014). The awareness program should be related to the health concerns of the women that basically based on acts and behavior to accept. In this scenario, health advancement and health promotion can be considered as the essential phenomena to set up an important environment of the health awareness to the people regarding the prevalence of postpartum depression.
Alternatively, in most of the Asian countries, depression has been recognized as a major public health issue nowadays. There is a large number of adolescent women face the postpartum depression after delivery. This situation is now a more difficult/complex for them that live in Asian countries rather than Western countries (Abdollahi et al., 2016). The main reason behind this problem is low literary rate, poor relationship with husband, unsupportive families, gender of the newborn, etc. The poor socioeconomic condition or cultural belief is also responsible to create prevalence of postpartum depression. Therefore, the prevalence of postpartum depression is higher in developing countries as compared to developed countries.
It can also be determined that complications during deliveries, the unavailability of good medical equipments and poverty are some of the other predisposing factors for anxiety and depression in the postpartum period. In some cases, the postpartum blues are turned into postpartum depression and when depression is not treated that turned into psychosis in some cases. Therefore, health advancement and health promotion in ethical point of view can create greater awareness in terms of such type of problems (Abdollahi et al., 2016). This can be possible after careful consideration of the health promotion program about the main factors of postpartum depression and including in the awareness campaign in order to advocate them for participation. The health advancement should be checked on the priority basis to provide essential resources to help individuals. There can be understanding regarding the true benefits of health advancement and health promotion after their participation regarding postpartum depression that is a significant public health issue affecting women.
In the present scenario, postpartum depression is common in Asian countries for the women that face challenges in the improvement of the depression effectively and efficiently. How they can manage their health issues appropriately; this has become a big question for them. At this stage, need of good health should be prioritized for them on the priority basis to come out of postpartum depression (National Institute of Health, 2016). It is possible when health promotion is conducted essentially in today’s postpartum depression conditions of the mother. The education and awareness can be adopted to inform people and encourage them to eliminate the risk factors contributing the depression.
