Introduction
Talent management can be defined as the method, in which human resources are used strategically by the organization for planning to improve the quality of business in order to accomplish the goal. Talent management includes recruiting, retention, development; distributing rewards and encouraging employees to perform well. This strategy is not implemented solely to the human resource department. It is applied at all level of the organization to get improved results and a success in achieving the targeted goal.
1. Talent Management Program used for McDonald’s Success
    After first quarter of 2002, when McDonald has reported its first loss in history. The company tried to carve out the reason and it forced them to take initiatives in evolving its talent management program. As mentioned by Oladapo (2014), despite of challenges faced in implementation of talent management program, it has proven to be beneficial for the company’s growing economy.
The initiatives implemented by company under the talent management program are:
Redesigning of the performance-based system for all the staff members- The staff is assessed on basis of performance, performance driver and position specific competencies.
Introduction of global talent review process at all-officer level- Talent reviewed template questions are given to the president and corporate staff head of each area of the world. These questions covered the
oader aspects of talent ensuring that top leaders are responsible and accountable for their area and they are working under the given guidelines.
Formation and implementation of accelerated program (LAMP) to train the high potential staff for the officer level- Based on the global talent review, company has designed the program to train its high-potential workers to get the officer-level job. The program focuses on improving the skills of future leaders through increasing the capability of participants to improve themselves in cu
