Statute law is also termed as a legislation which is eventually passed through the Parliament. While defining the 'statute' along with the emphasis on the 'legislation' one can use the terminology interchangeably. Considering both the State Parliament along with the Federal Parliament, they are influential bodies which can pass the laws in terms of the jurisdiction (area of influence). Also considering the fact that the legislation laws as made by the Parliament are recognized to be supreme which needs to be eventually considered by the courts. Additionally, the precedence over the common law along with the influence over Parliament's previous legislation in an event of consideration of a conflict needs to be recognized in between two Acts of Parliament.
