The video beautifully explained the Darwin’s theory of species and also answered the questions that were not explained by the theory. The basis for development and diversity is evolution and the reason behind this evolution is mutations. From his studies of birds of Galapagos islands, he found that all the thirteen different species of finches developed from a single species providing  a conclusion that species change with time.  Darwin studied the embryos of different species. He found that the tiny slits present in the neck in the fish serves as their gills while in humans it is present as ear bones, the whales had teeth in embryos but were absent in adult species indicating their development from creatures having teeth. He stated that all the species were interconnected and there was a descent of transformations. Further, nature being a battle field, every creature was engaged in a struggle for survival and the one those were best adapted to their environment survived for eg the ones who were able to bear extreme of temperatures, who were the perfect hunters or the ones who were able to evade their predators. With every generation species changed and new species evolved by variations and natural selection. However Darwin failed to answer the reason behind these variations, modern science tried to find the answers. They found through their DNA studies that the mutations in the genes generate variation in an individual. Mutations in the genes coding for fur color led to development of dark furred mice in Pancardia dessert of Arizona, where earlier light furred mice were present.
