You are to review the effectiveness of the HR functions within the organisation, researching the role and scope of HR and reviewing and assessing the main HR functions within the organisation. There is huge demand for Human Resource departments to become more dynamic and active with the evolving employees and changing market conditions. Today we live in digital age where business disruptions are anticipated that require versatile workforce. One of the organisation that was established two decades ago has been successful in changing the face marketplace and way in which the traditional business was conducted. The organisation on which I have built this cases study is Google as I was always fascinated about how this organisation has channelised its human resource department to become one of the most robust organisation in the industry. By the virtue of this case study, we would critically explain and unpack the impact of its human resource function, elaborating the primary roles, duties and responsiblities of the department. Furthermore, case provides you the assessment done on the approach taken for workforce planning, recruitment and shortlisting of the potential candidates. How does the company invest in employee's training and development and manage their performance along with keeping them engaged. Extensive analysis done on how descion are taken in the organisation and how the same is affected with internal and external factors. By the virtue of this case, we have done an extensive research to comprehend the criticality of HR function to drive some of the critical processes like – recruitment of potential employees, managing the performance and career of the exisiting and new employees in the organisation furthermore deep diving into the employee engagement and experience and how would I handle the restructuring in the company.

Google is one of the most popular and well known companies all across the world. It is an multinational technology organisation that pursues and differentiates in Internet related products and services. What began as a start-up in 1998 by La
y Page and Sergey Brin has transformed into most used and valuable organisation with its search engine dominating all across internet. Not only this, organization has
ought many innovative applications for instance, gmail, google GPS etc that touches most of the people. The organisation has its headquarters in California in USA and headed by Sundar Pichai as Chief Exceutive Officers and Ruth Porat as chief Financial Officers. As per the annual reports and with reference to the facts presented in the article, “Google’s Organizational Structure & Organizational Culture” (Smithson, 2017) exhibits the strength of the employees in the organisation is 85,050 and provide due credit to its organisation culture that nutures their employees. Google as a business strives to operate on principles that are set by the founders. Mission of the organisation can be encapsulated as their commitment to the users requirment, "To organize the world's information and to make it universally accessible and useful".
The organisation has been consistently awarded as the best employer and that is majorly because of the outcome of management of people by HR department and practices so developed that focuses on growth and expansion. Although the organisation has grown leaps and pounds with inclusions of new products and aquiring high potential companies. Nevertheless, Google makes an effort to leverage the advantage that comes from being small and mobile by providing autonomy to their employees. Approach of the organization to recruit and shortlist the potential employees and create policies such that it leverages itself to appeal to exceptional performers across geographies. All these policies and approach would be analysed and explored.

The mantra to the success of the orgnaisation is its positive and innovative culture at work. This culture drives loyality towards the company and commitment towards the work.

Post hiring there are dedicated HR functions that focuses on career growth and training the employees with new technology and skills.
