Description
The preventive care project is designed to provide you with a chance to demonstrate your ability to gather accurate information and share that information in a professional way with a veterinary or animal care client.
Topic: Choose a topic that interests you in the field of animal care (Agricultural, Veterinary, Retail services like grooming, pet care, animal training) for which you feel that a client may need more education. Examples include, but are not limited to: Vaccines – importance and/or adverse reactions. Spay/Neuter. Appropriate grooming. Dental Care. Nutrition. Reproductive Health. Behavioral problems. Nail or Hoof Care. Antibiotic use in food production animals. Appropriate Body Condition Scores. Anesthesia concerns. Flea and Tick Prevention. Parasite Prevention. Heartworm Prevention.
Information Gathering: Use 3 credible sources to inform your audience. We will be discussing how to choose credible sources in week 7 during our Li
ary tutorial. Cite your sources for information AND video/photography in the APA format.
Presentation of Material: You will be writing a Paper AND creating a PowerPoint
Paper: a 2-3 page paper outlining the topic (Introduction, Body, Conclusion and CITATIONS), no more than 12pt font, double or single spaced. Presentation: Your presentation will be presented as a PowerPoint or Google Slides, etc and should be presented with enthusiasm and professionalism. It should also be creative and engaging to the audience. It should be evident that you have prepared for the presentation, as well as potential questions the audience may ask. The presentation should be also College-level, and should last only 5-7 minutes. Be sure that you include your sources and pictures in APAformat
