Laboratory Report Poster

The assignment detail is as follows but full and more detailed guidance will be given in classes.

CW 1: Laboratory Report Poster(50%).
This should be in the form of a scientific poster.
You should set powerpoint slide to size A0 or A1.
You are required to print out this poster. It must also be submitted to Moodle.
The purpose of the Laboratory Report Poster is:
a. to summarise a lab report in a concise way;
. to show the progress which you have made in your laboratory sessions.

There is a maximum word limit of 1000, but your poster will most likely be >1000 words.
Examples will be provided to help you. The poster needs to consist of the following sections:
1. Title (project title; name of student and student number; name of Supervisor; Course; Date)
2. Your Aim should be clearly stated
3. Rationale: why is this laboratory technique important and what is its significance in the study of
Biology?
4. Introduction should be concise and
iefly summarise the literature and background
5. Summary work of completed (methodology, experimental results, new points form the
literature, conclusions, future directions) - this is where you clearly show the work you have
done and your progress.
6. Reference list – Harvard referencing style
7. Poster layout: Use visuals e.g. graphs, images, charts etc. and colour to make it interesting.
