Jon refuses to work on Tuesdays citing religious grounds. He is terminated. Jon sues the employer, alleging religious discrimination. The employer defends by saying that;
1.) Jon was not a member of this religion when he was hired
2.) Tuesday is not a valid Sabbath day
3.) Any religious group that celebrates a Sabbath on Tuesday is not a valid religion and the employer does not have to honor it.
Are any of the employer's defenses valid?
