This task is to research the topicIn order to identify and understand existing/current knowledge about the topic. The topic is “The implications of multiculturalism for workplace practice.”,and I want to narrow this topic to “problems of multiculturalism in Australian Higher Education” You will then write a criticaldiscussion and review of the relevant literature.

To complete a literature review you will need to identify journal articles, texts, media articles, etc. that are relevant to your research problem and analyse these documents in terms of their relevance. The bibliography should contain at least 10 references from various sources including books, business magazines and journals, internet sites etc. Emphasis must be given to peer reviewed journal articles (at least 6). A part of your review of the literature should include a critique of the research methodologies used in journal articles that report on research findings, where the methodology might have influenced the findings. This critique must be integrated into your overall discussion and not presented under a separate heading or in a separate paragraph. Please note that if you are a research student 10 references with 6 peer reviewed articles is not enough for your thesis.

A critical review of the literature is not the same as an essay. All peer reviewed articles that are published include a critical review of literature on the topic of the article; you can use peer reviewed articles as a ‘tutorial’ to learn how to write a literature review.

Criteria for Assessment: Review of Literature

· quality and completeness of the critical discussion of the literature;

· understanding of the appropriateness of the research designs and methodologies used by other researchers;

· evidence of appropriate reading and research skills to gather information including a wide range of sources; and

· correct presentation, including citation of sources and clarity of expression.

APA references style.

I will provide some articles which are maybe useful.

According to the researchers and personnel, work place diversity is the major asset for an
organization. It helps in overall productivity and individual goals. It helps in innovation and
growth. Culture refers to the ways of thinking that describes the characteristics of people of
different backgrounds. It gives rise to different implications such as:-
Stereotyping: Ethnic, gender and racial stereotypes create conflicts and misunderstandings in the

eaks the teams that are based on
shared values, cultures.
Styles of communication: Communication style differs among different types of cultures.

oken down into
factions. (Rollins, 2007)
Communication becomes the complex process with the implementation of numerous
skills and devices. The complexity is involved in the increase of intercultural aspects and it is
always problematic. Linguistic issues and problems in intercultural aspects are found in the
ehavior of people. It can also be defined as the symbolic process of exchange in an interactive
approach. Culture does not only influence the term known as language but it also impacts the
non ve
al aspects of communication. It is present everywhere and it reveals the differences in
intercultural and nonve
al communication. (Jenaibi, 2011)
Thus, there are differences between ve
al communications in the multicultural teams.
Because of lack of communication, differences are detected between direct and indirect ve
al
communication. Multiculturalism refers to multiple cultures and in
oad terms, it refers to the

Multicultural training becomes important but it is not a good practice as it demonstrates
only the management actions. It requires proper investigation which is the major drawback.
Communication is the important dimension in multiculturalism. It recognizes the scope of race,
ethnicity, language, sexual orientation, gender, age, status, education and other cultural
dimensions. It has huge challenges such as:-
Problems exist such as unemployment, social isolation etc with multiculturalism. There is

methods and process clearly. Culture does not only influence language but also impacts the
overall aspects of communication. Non ve
al communicational interaction is the importance of
every culture and it is everywhere but communication is done on the basis of actual usage of
words that are being used. Non-ve
al communication also becomes difficult with the contexts of
intercultural aspects. It is a powerful resource to spread the message all across the world. It is
developed with the communicative interaction. This way, it can meet with communicative goals.
It indicates that both ve
al and non-ve
al communication requires important applications and
skills of flexibility. It also involves important abilities of intercultural contexts. There is a
equirement to understand the emotions and feelings of other person with respect to attitude,
understanding, listening. (Luisa, 2007)

and lack of control. (Kymlicka, 2012)
