Executive Summary
The following rehabilitation plans to look at the rehabilitation process of the Gouldian Finch (Erythrura gouldiae), Pine Creek Skink (Ctenotus pinecreekii) and the Golden-Backed Tree-Rat (Mesem
iomys macrurus) as the fauna. The flora includes Acacia armitii, Calytrix rupestris and Senna procumbens. The population of the Ptychosperma macarthurii also need to be managed as well.
The purpose and objective of the rehabilitation plan, along with the various factors that need to be taken into account, as well as the impacts that affect the sustainability are also considered. Suggestions for managing the rehabilitation process and the identifying success factors are also analysed in the plan.

Introduction
The Gouldian Finch (Erythrura gouldiae), Pine Creek Skink (Ctenotus pinecreekii) and the Golden-Backed Tree-Rat (Mesem
iomys macrurus) are the three main fauna species that would be under danger since the extension of the Brolga Ridge mining lease. They, along with three main flora species would need to be rehabilitated immediately. The flora includes Acacia armitii, Calytrix rupestris and Senna procumbens. The population of the Ptychosperma macarthurii also need to be managed as well. The rehabilitation plan is discussed below.
All three of the species that have been discussed above are endangered species. The Gouldian finch, which is an extremely colourful bird, has had their numbers drastically decrease in the 20th century (Kiedrzynsk, et al, 2014). The reasons that have been provided for the same include the presence of a tic and the wild forest fires, which have been known to destroy their natural habitat. However, a lot of the finches had been exported to various countries, which primarily include the United States of America. This meant that the species, though with colour mutations, have been
ed in the countries as well. However, the colours that were specific to Australia have been on the verge of dying out but have been regurgitated. The Golden-Backed Tree rat I also one of the endangered species that are native to the country. The main reason that is provided is the abundance of domesticated and wild cats, who are the biggest predators of the rats. Another reason for the danger to the rat is forest fires. Since the rat mainly lives in rainforests, forest fires have been known to wipe out the population to a large extent.
The main problem is that the extension of the mine would damage the environment and the habitat of these endangered species. This would mean that the species might become extinct in the vicinity. This might not be a large problem for the finch, since their levels are stable. However, for the other species, it would mean a largescale destruction of their environment and their lives. The rat mainly eats nuts, fruits, flowers and small insects. If the mining was allowed in the area without rehabilitation, then it would mean that the trees would be destroyed to a large extent (Meri & Sanchez, 2010). The source of food and shelter would be removed, which means that the rat, which is visible to the predators, would be hunted upon. This would further decrease the population of the creatures. Hence, it would be extremely beneficial for the rehabilitation plan to succeed.
The scope of this is huge, since the number of flora and fauna that could be lost would also be to a large extent. The scale at which the mine is being expanded is on a large scale and the loss of habitat and destruction of the environment would also be on a large scale. Thus, the scope of the project is estimated to be on a large scale, which is why the rehabilitation plan is important.
Purpose and Objective
The purpose and objective of the rehabilitation process are important elements that need to be established when looking at the rehabilitation plan.
The purpose of this plan is to describe the rehabilitation plan, the factors that need to be considered and the success criterion of the plan, when looking at 4 main species, the Gouldian Finch (Erythrura gouldiae) and the Pine Creek Skink (Ctenotus pinecreekii) as fauna and Acacia armitii, and Ptychosperma macarthurii as flora.
The key objective is to ensure that all the threatened species are rehabilitated safely. The other objectives include:
1. Ensuring that the rehabilitation process is the least damaging and stressful process for the species.
2. Ensuring that the transportation process is done in a way that causes the least damage to the animals that are being transported.
3. Making sure that the success criterion are being met in a way that ensures that the rehabilitation process has been effective: This does not mean that the process should be fudged or the success criterion should not be at an appropriate standard.
Interaction of species and their habitats
Most of the species that have been discussed are very attached to their habitats. They provide, gain and lose a lot from their habitats, which is why it is important to ensure that their habitat is taken care of.
The Gouldian Finch is one of the endangered species that is found in Australia. They are native to the country, which means that the possibility of finding them anywhere else, unless there is selective
eeding that is done, is hard. It can be found from the De
y region, to Western Australia and the Gulf of Carpentaria as well. Prior to 1981, they were also exported to various other countries, amongst which the United States of America was the largest exporter (Cristescu, et al, 2012). It is found in the edge of the mangroves, since they require a lot of water and need to have it often during the day. The Golden Finch is also found in savannas where there are a lot of trees present as well. Thus, the Golden finch is clearly adapted to the habitat in which they have been living in. Though there have been cases of them serving in other places, they are rarely, if ever, found anywhere else. The birds are migratory as well, which means they need a change in habitat.
The Golden Backed tree rat is also dependent heavily on the habitat that it is in. They live in rainforests since the rainforests allow them to get food, and shelter as well. They are nocturnal creatures, which means that the possibility of survival without a rainforest would be minimal. Thus, they are required to be su
ounded by trees as much as possible. Thus, it would be beneficial for them to have their original habitats.
In the case of the flora, the Acacia armitii, requires sandy soil, and hence the plant is found near most woodlands and open woodlands. It can also be found growing in the cracks of granite pavement over hills. Thus, their habitat, which is as important as the habitat of the other plants and animals, is also under risk during the mining process. Mining can damage the water levels, and make an area parched and dry (Brierley & Fryirs, 2009). The plant would not be able to survive in such a habitat, which is why it needs to...
