READING THE CHAPTER ASSIGNED first before reading the statutes will make the analysis easier.
Reviewthe following three statutes. What state law are these statutes from?
List eachitem that is listed in the statutes that must be in writing. This requires you to carefully analyze the statutes and determine what specific items each statute describes.
Look upthe Statute of Frauds list in the textbook. Make a list from the textbook of which contracts or agreements must be in writing. There is a specific list given in the textbook and this will need to be used in order to correctly complete the assignment.You will now have two lists, one from the textbook and one from the three statutes.
Comparethe two lists. What is the difference between the two lists?i.e. what does the textbook list as contracts that have to be in writing compared to the statutes below? There are some types that will be on one list and not the other. Identify these.
Pick one type of contractthat must be in writing and explain what type of contract that is and give an example.
