Introduction
Energy industry of Australia includes all economic activity in relation to the distribution, supply and generation of gas and electricity to their consumers. The country has only about 0.3 per cent reserve of world oil. It has estimated that 6 per cent of coal, 46 per cent of uranium and 2 per cent of natural gas of resources in the world. Australia is the world’s twentieth largest consumer of energy and fifteenth in terms of per capita energy use. Australia produces about 2.4 per cent of total world energy and it s a major supplier of energy to the world markets. It export more than three-quarters of the production energy output (worth around A$ 80 billion). The world’s largest exporter of coal is Australia, which accounts for more than half of its energy exports. It is also one of the largest exporters of Uranium and ranked sixth in LNG (Liquefied natural gas exports). We will now focus on analyzing the evolution of energy industry in Australia.

Review of Literature:
Azad et al (2013) the study aims to analyze the energy scenario of Australia. It investigate the total energy consumption and total energy production by fuel type, export of energy and analyses the scope of renewable energy .They have employed graphical method for analyzing energy data from 1975 to 2011 and 2013 datasets. They have found that total energy consumption was increased by 2% relative to 2010-11 to total 6194 pet joules in 2011-12.This was mainly driven by strong growth of energy use in the services and commercial sector and modest growth in the agricultural, mining, transport and residential sectors. They found there is decrease in energy consumption in sector of manufacturing and construction. The result indicates that there was 5 per cent increase in total energy production including energy exports during 2011 – 12. They found that in 2011 – 12 there was a decline in consumption of hydro energy coupled with lower output of hydro electricity in southeast Australia due to reduction in water flows. They had concluded that there is feasibility for Australia’s renewable energy economy and also state that renewable energy can be used effectively for the sector of transport and generation of electricity.
Azad et,al. (2014) This study was focused on examining the relationship between Australia economic growth by use of renewable energy for the generation of electricity. Log-Log multiple regression models is used for the analysis. They used extended Co
Douglas production model for the regression analysis. They used real GDP (Y) as dependent variable and energy consumption (non renewable or renewable energy), ca
on dioxide (CO2) emission, capital (K) and labor (L) as independent variable for conducting multiple regression analysis. They found that model of renewable electricity generation resulted in low emission and economic growth in Australia.
Yanga et.,al (2019) This paper examines about the evolution of generation technology mix in Australia. It...
