- Using the definitions of administrative and counseling supervision discussed in chapter 8, discuss how the two are similar and then note how they are different. Summarize the differences in terms of roles and responsibilities between administrative and counseling supervision.

Similarities between Administrative and Counselling Supervision
Administrative supervision include monitoring treatment agency operations, organizing resources and personnel, and putting processes and regulations into action in a way that guides activities toward agency objectives and goals (Dewane,2007). Administrators give supervision program leadership and direction by defining and supporting the program mission and supervision goals. Supervisors of counselling departments at schools or agencies with several counsellors sometimes have counselling caseloads in addition to supervising responsibilities.
On the other hand, Supervision is a professional service that fosters the counsellor’s process of self-awareness while also promoting self-learning, resulting in continued professionalism. Working under supervision denotes that the services are used by a counsellor. Clients are protected by supervision since it involves an unbiased third party in the work of a therapist and client (Dewane, 2007).
