People still stand in long queues to cast their vote, however, they are not that much inspired to give political integration to the nation. Their opinions are not oppressed but divided over their interest of talks. He is of the view that the decision over referendum could be done by single ballot process but it took longer as the matter was politically sensitive for entire Quebec society. He is also of the view that voter intimidation, a concept sometimes related to those images from the American election, is the most probable reason (Macpherson, 2020).

In particular, elderly voters might frustrate of waiting and leaving, or turn around at the sight of long lineups and go home. And the elderly appeared to be without supporters in the referendum. In the referendum, the deputy returning officers appointed by the pro-independence Yes campaign managed the polls. Following the referendum, those representatives were found to have illegally rejected legitimate no votes in a few strongly federalist constituencies (Macpherson, 2020). It results in the loss of percentage, overall 12% loss in actual voting and in the votes casted through ballots at the time of referendum. The loss of voting is directly, therefore, proportionate in terms of selecting the political...
