Parliament Vs Council {[13/83] [1985] ECR 1513 [1986] 1 CMLR 138}
Introduction 
The area of the European Union Law that the present case of Parliament Versus Council No 
13/83 of 1985 deals with the serious concern of the Parliament which it addresses to the council 
that the latter has failed to comply with the tenets of the Transportation Policy and has 
consequently “failed to fulfill its obligations in respect of the Common Transport Policy” 
[Summary 13/83]”, The Court Registry filed the application on 24
th
 January 1983 through which 
the European Parliament sought to bring action against the European Economic Council under 
the first paragraph of Article 175 of the EEC Treaty. Within the application was implied the 
accusation that the Council had been lax in framing a uniform Transport Policy to facilitate the 
working of the transport systems of several member countries and this was especially true for 
many of the member countries.
