The success of any organization or any government across the globe depends on the
ability of the leaders on whose hand the fate of the organizations and governments usually rests.
Hence, in this modern world of complexities the ability of leaders and their leadership traits are
crucial to ensure the accomplishment of goals and objectives of any organization, institution,
socio-political, or economic body. In relation to the importance of effective leadership this paper
endeavors to discuss about the lives and leadership styles of three distinct leaders from corporate
and the political world – William Henry Bill Gates, Steven Paul Jobs, and President Barack
Hussein Obama.
On November 28, 1955 in Seattle, Washington, Bill Gates was born. His knack towards
computer was observable since the age of thirteen and his interest was mainly towards computer
programming. His talent was distinctly noticeable in his computer programming at the Lake Side
School. It was his meeting with his friend and business partner Paul Allen which opened the door
for his success in the realm of cyber world. It was through his hard work and sheer intelligence
that Bill Gates proved his genius and was ultimately able to establish himself as the Co-founder
and Chairman of Microsoft Corporation and one of the greatest business magnates of this world.
It is through his leadership skills, technological innovation, keen business strategy, and through
an aggressive competitive tactics that Bill Gates has owned the largest software business of the
world. Moreover, apart from being known as a business tycoon, it is the philanthropic endeavors
of Bill Gates which has also contributed to his positive image as an effective, visionary, and
socially responsible leader.
Steve Jobs, on the other hand, was born in San Francisco on Fe
uary 24, 1955. Like the
similarity in the year of birth there is also a similarity between Jobs and Gates and that is, both of
