1) Office of domestic preparedness is established with an objective to make the country well 
prepared to face any type of eventual emergency. It can be natural disaster or even terroristic 
activities as well. Terroristic activities in recent times have escalated in volume and severity. 
When compared with olden days there are more number of occurrences of these activities 
everywhere in the country and hence in this connection, ODP need to focus its preparedness 
and efforts on terrorism as well. Ofcourse preparedness of the ODP will be for all type of 
hazards including natural as well as man-made hazards like terroristic activities 
(Waeckerle,2000). 
 
2) There are several governmental organizations available indicating information on range of 
disasters, risks and hazards. The information regarding the basic information like 
classification of the disasters, related information, satellite mapping, and information on the 
preparedness, emergency plan etc. are available on variety of web sites like 
www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov, (www1), (www2) etc. 
 
3) Credibility of the information can generally be authenticated based on the agency monitoring 
the information source. For example .
