Paper on Douglass book should be 5-8 pages typed and double-spaced (less than five FULL pages will affect grade). Font 12. Oneinch margins. In addition, paper should include a cover page and bibliography. Do not zip paper, cover page and bibliography, send as one file.NO OTHER SOURCES ARE PERMITTED. Cite quotes and facts as needed. Limit citations and none should be longer than one sentence. Paper should describe what it was like to be a slave in the United States as told through the experiences of Frederick Douglass. Be as thorough as possible addressing all aspects and environments of American slaves; what was it like to be a slave? How did slavery impact slave owners? Focus should be on slavery in general not Douglass (don't ignore Douglass, just focus on slavery). One approach would be to read the book and write your paper as if you were explaining slavery to a friend who knows nothing about slavery. Personal analysis is expected, not a summary of book. Quality of writing will be a factor in determining grade. Be aware that plagiarism will result in failure and be reported to the administration. Note that papers will be checked for plagiarism. Optional: You may submit a rough draft for review before due date. Deadline for rough drafts is November 22.

Introduction
Frederick Douglass, was an American social reformer, orator, abolitionist, writer, and statesman. After escaping from the slavery in Maryland, he became the national leader of the abolitionist movement in New York (Hurt, 2019). Slowly and steadily, he became famous for his autobiographies and book which has the description of his experience as an American slave. He had explained the harsh and bitter lives of the slaves he witnessed. Slavery as well as enslavement are the state and condition of being slave, who is someone fo
idden to quit their service for another person, who treats that slave as their property. Hence, slavery is the painful concept where the slaves is being owned by another and is not independent to do whatever they like according to their wish.
Concept of Slavery in America
Slavery is the concept, where one person is being owned by another and is being treated as their own property and hence, it is expected that what ever task the master gives, the slave has to perform each and every task without uttering a single word against them. The concept of slavery is a very harsh and traumatising feelings for the slaves, as they remain in the state of being literally tortured and often bear punishment from their masters if not perform their tasks perfectly. A slave is considered as the law or the property of their masters and remain deprived from most of the rights ordinarily held by free person.
In America, under the law, an enslaved person is been considered as the property and can bought, sold, or even given away if ever desired by their masters. Until 1865, the concept of slavery last in about half of the entire United States. As an economic system, slavery has been replaced by the sharecropping and convict leasing. The slaves usually lead their life as a labour and are not allowed to express their own desire and feelings. Their families also get suffered and lead a painful life. If even they want to come out from this painful chained and bonded life, they are not allowed and if by chance these labours cleverly try to run away from this haunted life they would be searched by the spy’s and if found would be sold or even killed.
Slavery in United States was mostly known as the chattel slavery that is mostly comprising of the Africans as well as the African Americans. After the American revolution, these enslaved people had been institutionalised and has been worked endlessly in factories with over pressure as well as burden. These people were literally tortured day after day with no proper food and drinking waters. Immediately after the revolution, abolitionists passed a law that slavery system should be abolished and the concept of slavery slowly and steadily take the form of sharecropping (Naish, 2017). Apart from this human trafficking is yet another form of slavery where not only the males but also the females were been found to work simultaneously along with their man to feed their family and children (Bonilla and Mo, 2019).
Frederich Douglass was born in slavery with a black mother but white father. At the age of eight he was been sent to another owner in Maryland to live in the household of Hugh Auld. Though he had to work there too much and complete the entire household works, but the thing he like there was reading books...
