Introduction 
 The case at hand highlights two different aspects. It talks about consumer protection 
and consumer rights on one hand and validity of a contact on the other.  
 The case explores the conditions and situations under which a contact is said 
to be made or is considered valid. Any trade involves two parties - the customers and the 
buyer, who unknowingly enters into a contract with each other every time a purchase or 
promise is made. Any contract has three basic elements - offer, consideration and acceptance. 
They can be oral or written (Curzon, 1983, pp 280). 
The case also brings into light ‘Consumer protection and Consumer rights’, which are 
meant for the best interest of the consumers. They are guided by a set of rules and act which 
make sure that the dealers or manufacturers do not make the customers fools. In cases where 
the sellers misguide customers, these acts help the customers to get justice and fight for their 
rights.  
Case Analysis 
  The given case is about a woman named Zara, who own Four ‘Burmese kittens’. She 
intends to sell these kittens at £300 each and therefore advertises for the same in a newspaper. 
Following this, Zara receives four different offers - 
1) The first offer which Zara receives is from Xavier, who after physically seeing the kittens 
asked Zara to reserve the smallest kitten for him and that he would come back after three
