On August 12, Cynthia, a famous opera singer, entered into a contract with Henderson, the managing partner of the San Francisco Opera House, to sing at the Opera House on September 10. Cynthia was to receive $25,000 for the performance to be paid immediately upon the completion of the performance.
1. Cynthia requests Henderson to make the payment for her performance to her brother Jake.
2. Cynthia, found more profitable singing opportunities and assigned the contract to perform in San Francisco to Siegfried, an equally famous singer.
3. The Opera House was closed and Henderson sold the contract for Cynthia to sing to Sanderson, a music promoter, who arranged for Cynthia to sing at the Masonic Theater in San Francisco.
