1. Compare and contrast acids and bases in terms of their H+ ion and OH- ion concentrations.
The key difference between acid and base is that when an acid is dissolved into water then it releases H+ ions while, a base liberates OH- ions after its dissolution into water. In other words, a solution that consists of a number of hydronium ions but few hydroxide ions is known as; acidic and a solution which contains numerous hydroxide ions and little hydronium ions is called as; basic.
