Introduction
NAEYC is an early childhood accreditation program that undertakes a self-assessment project with the view of providing standardized early childhood education. In establishing the accountability of the program, one collects data that is thereafter used to show how the program conforms to the accreditation criteria, which is the focus of the NAECY program. In any observation conducted, information is grouped under four basic sources of evidence. These are observation criteria, program portfolio, classroom portfolio and teaching staff surveys. This report gives the information gathered during an observation conducted in one of the classrooms of Baltimore (fictitious) childcare centre (“Guide to Self-Assessment,” 2011).
