Problem Statement
InvisAid Solutions Inc. is committed to supplying surgical equipment to the medical sector in the United States, with a strong reputation for quality, on-time delivery, and customer service. Top management has been given an opportunity to enter a very profitable niche market in order to diversify the portfolio and invest in new technologies. Popular wound adhesion products used for surgical procedures and post care are invasive on patients skin causing mild to heavy i
itation. Sutures or staples can take up to one to two weeks before they will either dissolve or be removed. Even after sutures and staples are removed, i
itable
uises can still be on the patient's skin. InvisAid is looking to compete in the provision of new wound closure devices and surgical sealants.
Five Forces Framework Analysis
Threat of Entry
In order to enter the niche market of wound closure devices, our company must be able to overcome the ba
iers. Ba
iers are the obstacles that make it difficult to compete in the wound closure device market. If the ba
iers are high, then competitors will find it difficult to enter the market. However, if ba
iers are low, competitors will not have a hard time entering the market.   These ba
iers include the cost of entry, economies of scale,
and building, government regulations, patents or licenses and the cost of switching products.
Our company has an advantage entering the wound closure market because of our high reputation in the medical industry in specialized equipment. After researching the market of wound closure devices, we have the capacity to add another product into our line that will generate more revenue and be profitable for our company. Our strong
and identity and connections with manufacturers, suppliers- wholesale
distributors, hospitals, doctors, private practices and public trust show that this InvisAid will be successful and gain market share.
Our product InvisAid is a popular adhesion product used for surgical procedures and post care without the need for traditional sutures.  They are invasive on patients’ skin, decrease wound healing time, minimize complications from infections and reduce the appearance of scars. There are similar products in the market for this type of wound closure device, however patient reviews show that these devices are hard to remove and i
itate the skin. We have worked closely with manufacturers to test different types of adhesive glues that would be suitable for those with sensitive skin. We stand by our product quality and work closely with our manufacturers to produce a low-cost, high-quality product.
