Task 1
There are many aspects of Human Resource Management and different organizations have different approaches in these aspects. In the process of recruitment, there are generally two types and those are internal recruitment and external recruitment. Internal recruitment is known to be a process where vacancies in an organization are filled by people already working within an organization (DeVaro, 2016). On the other hand, external recruitment is known to be a process where the vacancies of an organization are filled up by people from outside the business. In the case of Samsung, the organization is involved in both internal and external recruitment (Farndale et al., 2018). There are certain advantages and disadvantages of both the recruitment procedures hence the organization uses them wisely in different kinds of vacancies.
Internal recruitment is known to be a cheaper and quicker process which helps the organization hires people faster at low cost. The people getting hired in Samsung are already familiar with the working culture of the organization. People feel motivated as they get promoted for a new job role. The candidate has been working in the organization and the management is familiar with the candidate’s strengths and weaknesses. But internal recruitment in Samsung limits the amount of potential candidate that is being hired. New people
ing new ideas and hence that would be missing. Internal recruitment also creates another vacancy which needs to be filled as one candidate is being hired for another position hence making it a big concern for Samsung.
In external recruitment of Samsung new people join an organization hence
ing new ideas that could be beneficial to the business. The increase is potential for talented candidates is another advantage of external recruitment. People from different background with higher experience would be able to join if selected. Even though it has these qualities the process of this recruitment procedure is longer and costlier. As per the management of Samsung, there is a chance of selecting the wrong candidate as the pool of candidates is large in this case.
There are different processes adapted by Samsung in the recruitment process and they are online recruitment and recruitment agencies. Online recruitment is a process where an organization posts advertisements for the required vacancy on their website and other official pages. In case of recruitment agencies, organizations hire third-party vendors to screen candidates for them and then the final selection is done by the organization itself.
Online recruitment is known to be cost effective if the right platforms are used for advertisement (Brandão et al., 2017). In case of online recruitment of Samsung, it reaches to larger audiences hence the organizations get to select from a large pool of candidates. The biggest disadvantage of this recruitment approach adapted by Samsung is that it does not allow targeting specific candidates. As an online platform is used by most of the population hence it does not only reach to the needed people. As it reaches most of the population hence there are many fraudulent applications that eat up time of the organization.
Samsung also hires third-party vendors for the recruitment process. One of the biggest advantages of recruitment agencies is that it saves a lot of time in the organization. Another advantage of recruitment agencies is that the hiring procedure becomes faster (Leverhulme, 2017). The recruitment agencies already have a database of candidates differentiating the role they are experienced in hence it becomes very easy for them to complete the procedure faster.
Task 2
