Successful accomplishments of the projects demand high level of coordination and cooperation among entities and individuals. This is so because projects entails wide amount of resources, time and efforts for attaining desired objectives and outcomes. In other words, business firms spend wide amount of resources, time and effort for pursuing and accomplishing any projects (Kousholt 2007, pp.27-35).
Now-a-days business firms are facing difficulty in undertaking individual projects on account of heavy investments and time efforts. Due to this, phenomenon of joint projects, partnerships, strategic alliances, or any other contract forms arises significantly in order to facilitate business firms in accomplishing projects. Such kind of partnership and association give rise to various issues and challenges. The underlying assignment aimed at identifying such challenges and discovering appropriate mode and structure for solving and handling such challenges.
Challenges for the management of projects in case of joint delivery
Joint projects are a recent development whereby project is undertaken and delivered with mutual efforts. This phenomenon has gained considerable popularity in recent years. The joint projects demand high level of coordination and alignment among personnel, materials, resources, procedures and facilities of both business firms. In an ideal joint project, both the entities strive towards delivering positive results and attaining desirable outcomes.
However, the challenges faced by business organisations in joint projects have increased significantly over the last five to ten years. The underlying assignment has discussed some of such challenges faced by the Australian organisation while undertaken joint projects in another country. Groupon is one of the renowned Australian business firms engaged in providing economic and profitable business deals to the customers. Groupon functions in a form of process whereby it route economic and profitable deals from companies to customers. The deals related to leisure, entertainment, food, health, beauty, adventure activities, etc are routed by the Groupon to the customers (Kloppenborg 2011, pp.13-20).
Groupon is engaged in expanding its operations and approaching global customers through various international expansion projects. One such project has been undertaken by the company in China in collaboration with Tencent, a Chinese Interent giant.
