1) Background and purpose of Maersk shipping company:
Aktieselskabet Dampskibsselskabet Svendborg steamship was introduced in 1904 in the town of Svendborg by A.P. Møller and Peter Mærsk Møller before the establishment of Maersk shipping company. Later this ship was renamed into Svendborg. In 1912 A.P. Møller founded a shipping company of Dampskibsselskabet to protect himself from the operational independence. First World War created a favourable business and it lead to the quick expansion. Both the companies were maintained parallel by A.P. Møller and in 2003 they have merged both. Odense steel shipyard was built in 1918 “to build ships using our companies shipping experience”. This becomes a major supplier to the Maersk Company. 
The first shipping container was delivered after 1980 and it was stopped the production process in 2012.He started the first Isbrandtsen-Moller Company in New York with Hans J. Isbrandtsen. At present it was represented in 130 countries. In 1968 they introduced first sailing route from Europe – Asia.Container vessels were introduced in 1975.In 1979 Maersk acquired Svitzer and also acquired EACBen container line ltd in 1993.In 1996 it creared a world record container Regina Maersk 20 foot container. At present it g\has Jim Hageman Snabe as a chairman of the board of directors. Purpose of this company is to serve the customer by providing a quality services through acquiring strong human capital and also involve in stabilised financial management.
