Self-esteem is a person’s respect for himself. It is the way in which he/she views himself/herself and their worth. Self-efficacy on the other hand refers to the belief in one’s ability to accomplish a specific task. So while self-esteem is personal, self-efficacy is situational. Self-esteem can have a great impact on self-efficacy and hence the two are related concepts (Bandura, 2006).
A person with high self-esteem often has high self-efficacy since he believes himself capable of accomplishing any task. A person with low self-esteem is in more likely to doubt himself and his ability to accomplish anything. That is why,
