INDIVIDUAL ASSIGNMENT: Arabidopsis Primary Literature (15 pts)
Instructions: Using the UTA li
ary databases, find one primary literature source that is pertinent to your
Arabidopsis experiment, and plants’ adaptations to the environment. The primary source you locate
should be scientific research that would provide background information on Arabidopsis plants and/or
how their growth and/or reproduction is affected by different environmental conditions. Bring this
assignment to your first day of in-person lab. No late assignments will be accepted!
For your source provide the following information:
1. Title of the article
2. All authors
3. Name of the journal in which the article was published. Include volume, issue, and year.
4. Motive for the study. Why was the study conducted?
5. Objective. What were the authors hoping to learn?
6. Outcome. What did the study conclude?
7. Implication. What is the relevance of the author’s findings? What does the outcome of their
study mean, why is it important?
8. How does the information in the article relate to your Arabidopsis experiment?
Formatting
• Header should include:
o Your name
o Course, lab instructor name, date
o Factor you are testing in your Arabidopsis ecotype experiment
• 1.5 spaced type
• All text should be 12pt Times New Roman
• Citations need to be in CSE format
