Introduction
Terrorism has become one of the most discussed topics in the present days. For a last few decades, there is a surge in the terrorist activities and post 9/11; it became one of the most discussed topics. Following the incident that is considered one of the most worst hit terrorist activities around the world, multiple attacks have been taken place all around the world and had cost many innocent lives. The project is about the different strategies that US government has released to counter terrorist activities and the effectiveness of these strategies until now, as to counter the deadly motives of these terrorist who still are looking for opportunities to again disrupt the situation and create a similar unrest that they did previously.

Post 9/11, the US government has taken drastic steps to counter the terrorist activities that had cost many innocent lives and loss of properties. After the incident, then President of United States of America George Bush had reacted immediately and had taken necessary steps to counter these terrorist and the mastermind of all Osama Bin Laden. The hunt for Laden has taken them to many places and that had resulted a long war for many years and finally on May 2011 the hunt of Laden came to an end when he was shot dead at Abbotabad, Pakistan. Now, the steps that America had taken are well-constructed strategies that were provided with information from many people of intelligence agencies.
Hamidi (2016) has discussed that the strategies need to set because it will help the agencies to move in a constructive manner and that will help to understand the mentality and real motive of the terrorists as through this only they could counter the terrorist activities. Government is also taking steps to make awareness among the citizens regarding the identification of terrorist movements and that they could able to identify if someone tries to create a violent extremism through politically motivated persons or through religiously motivate persons.
In an archive of the White House of the US, during the tenure of President Barack Obama, a file was created, which was titled Empowering Local Partners to Prevent Violent Extremism in the United States (Aug, 2011) (Obama White House, 2020). In it, it is clearly mentioned the purpose of the strategic guidelines and the role of the citizens in indentifying and helping government agencies in countering these activities. The article highlighted the importance of these guidelines and the role that local communities will play, as they are the one who can receive the reports on ground level. The people will have to be very much aware regarding any such gatherings or any kind of suspicious movements that they see and report immediately to the government agencies.
The promptness that the community people will show will help the agencies to gather authentic Intel and that will help them to prepare their goals and set the priority of the actions that need to be taken further.
