The chief founded a new way to profit from the situation, as many companies, which received loans from ICICI, were bankrupt (NDTV, 2019).
Ms. Chanda Kochar was involved in providing a loan to a legacy firm of 3250 crore INR, which became a non-performing asset for the bank. It was done to benefit the family indirectly. Lastly, the enforcement directorate filed an FIR against Ms. Kochar, his husband, and the Videocon group and accused them of money laundering.
This fraud has taken place in ICICI bank. These activities started in 2009, but all the necessary proceedings began in 2019, which investigated where this money was invested.
