TITLE : Analysis of the intervention by the government of USA in its agriculture market.
INTRODUCTION:
The government should not continue to intervene in the price discovery of the Agriculture sector in United States Of America. This statement is contradictory in the sense that : the intervention of the government has both positive and negative effects on the agriculture sector of the USA.
The Government may or may not influence the farmers’ productivity ,the location of their farms , ways used for transportation , the processing method , warehousing ,the trading criteria of the commodity, the minimum price the farmer should receive, and others. Every part , starting from the beginning, is a fixed framework of government policies which are strictly followed in order to ensure that no e
ors or problems occur in this huge process. The policies undertaken by Government and the agricultural productivity are related to each other for decades or more specifically , since 1799 when George Washington gave the order to the Regulatory bodies to establish a Agriculture Board. In year 1862, United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) was set up by the government. The then government of USA recognized the potential of the farmers and discovered new methods to cultivate the land with advance scientific research and technology, which would provide an abundant food supply. The USDA is the primary body promoting , regulating and enforcing the policies for the agriculture industries. Its primary aim is to implement the policies approved by the regulating body. Sometimes , the government intervene to improve certain market outcomes. If the invisible hands of the market is good enough , then what is the need for government to intervene.one of the major reason we need government to intervene is that the two instruments of the economy : demand and supply ;can work its charm when the government enforces a set of proper regulations and rules in order to maintain the industries that are prior to the market economy. The Market needs a regulatory body to enforce property rights so that people have the ability to own and control the scarce resources. A farmer would not grow crops or other agricultural items if he expects them to be stolen or destroyed. Another...
