1. Personal details
I am a dedicated, hard-working, positive and enthusiastic individual, who has shaped his maturity with the valid experiences in the professional sector. I have developed acuity for solving pragmatic problems, managing complex situations and undertake a responsible approach to maintain healthy employee relations as a manager in the organisations, I work. With a three years degree in management and six months of internship programme in a reputed organisation, I have excelled in channelizing the mindset of others in one particular direction to timely achieve the organisational goals and objectives. I am self-driven and self-reliant with high personal values and complete commitment to the assigned job role as a manager. I give attention to minute details and put to use my managerial skills whenever striving to settle disputes or seeking to improve organisational operations. I am a highly motivated and optimistic person with a strong vision to achieve the goals set by the organisation ensuring complete participation of all the employees. With a strong communication and interpersonal skills along with the ability to devise innovative thoughts and ideas for constructive outcome, I strive to excel as a manager and utilize my skills, abilities and experiences to build good relations in the organisational environment.
2. Personal philosophy and understanding of employment relations
My personal philosophy has significantly guided me while performing my responsibilities of a manager in an organisation. My sincerity, hard-working nature and devotion towards my work has helped me to develop insight about my managerial skills to effectively handle the issues of the employees. However, my philosophy is dynamic and ever growing in nature because with my professional experiences ticking up, my personal philosophy continues to enrich. According to Reina et al.(2018), an effective manager must be aware of the situations present in the organisation among the employees. Likewise, I analyse the situations and attempt to comprehend the mindset of each employee with whom I am dealing.
In my opinion, a cordial relation between the employer and an employee contributes towards establishing a commitment between the two parties, where each derives benefits from the other. With people in an organisation form different cultural backgrounds conflicting ideologies do exist in an industry. It is therefore important to for me to utilise my experiences to
idge the communication gap between the employees through open communication channels and by listening to the point of view of all the team members. As a manager it is important for me to know my team members and then encourage the team members to know each other.
Goals and objectives for effective employment relations
The effective employment relation is established in an organisation to ensure the attainment of certain goals and objectives. Dillen et al.(2019) have pointed out the fundamental objectives for effective employment relations that include satisfaction of the employees. As mentioned by Hanaysha (2016) maintaining good employee relations will lead to employee empowerment and excellent team work. For an employee to be satisfied it is important to have good organisational relations with the employees .Goals and objectives of the organisation for which I worked as a manager were to maintain the four pillars of good employee relations. According to the policies of the organisation these pillars were:
1. Open communication: There was a huge focus on maintaining good communication between employees and between the employees and their manager.
2. Show recognition: All the employees were encouraged for the work they have done. Employees must be encouraged to recognise the work done by their peers.
3. Constant feedback: Offering feedback to the employees on the work done by them as well as to provide them with constructive criticism helps to build positive relationship with the employees.
4. Investment in employees: It will be beneficial for the organisation to invest in its human resources so that the human resources of the organisation stay with the organisation for a longer period of time.
3. Legal obligations, Fair Work Act, regulations policies and rewards
The legal obligations, policies, standards and regulations serve as a safety net for the employees of the organisation ensuring flexibility at workplace and fairness without any form of discriminatory practices. The Australian state is strict with the rules regarding employee reations and empowerment and does not allow the industries and workplaces to exploit their human resources. The state makes use of three arms viz. executive, legislative and judiciary to exercise political control over people in a given te
itory. As suggested by Knox (2018) this shall ensure that all the workers in the organisation are treated equally. The key body at the executive arm of the state is Fair Work Commission (FWC). FWC has functions like award-making, unfair dismissal, dispute settlement etc. While working as a manager in an organisation, it is my responsibility to be fully aware about the responsibilities and rights of the employers, employees and employment relations. It is my responsibility to ensure that all the rules, regulations and acts are being followed properly and there is no biased behaviour with any of the employees. The Act consists of the relevant employment terms and conditions applicable for the employers and employee. The national workplace relations systems comprise the set of legal obligations, rules and policies enlisted in the Fair Work Act 2009 that are applicable for the organisational employers and employees. The Fair Work Act 2009 is the...
