Introduction
Companies presently operate in challenging, fast-paced competitive environment and are
often faced with ethical issues related to their operations in third world countries and the impact
of resulting pollution from their activities there. Ethics in business refers to abiding by the laws
and regulations, company standards. The principles of ethics in business include fairness, truth,
honesty and respect which are important components of good business practice. Ethics deals with

These countries make a trade-off by allowing businesses to ca

ine had set up its manufacturing unit in India. The disastrous incident
of poisonous gas leakage from the plant, the incident commonly called the Bhopal Gas Tragedy
– the worst industrial disaster globally, killed thousands of people and left lakhs of them
disabled. Even after about thirty years of the incident, it still affects the new born children.
Similarly in Mexico, the manufacturing units of major technology companies like IBM and Sony
poses serious threats to environmental issues. Products and companies banned in developed
countries are often found to aggressively market their products in the third world countries. For
instance, DDT which is banned in US and UK for past 30 years, still sells its products in third
world countries.
These kinds of uncontrolled and mindless business activities leads to environmental
problems like deforestation, soil erosion, water...
