A Fecundity Benefit for Cannibalistic Females of the False Garden Mantid
Do size of female influences male lizard mating preference?
The pattern of male lizard was observed and its more attracted to big size female lizard than small ones.
     XXXXXXXXXXAmanuel
Department of Biological Sciences, Macquarie University, Australia
Background
The wild male mating large sized female is shown in Fig 1, as male always competes for large size female to pass on gene for healthy off springs. (Martin J. Whiting XXXXXXXXXXThe latency time to court large size female is higher when compared to small sized females due to competition from other wild males to mate. The strong males succeed to mate large size females and weak males prefer small size female for mating and its courting time is less due to low competition.
Aim
The aim/objective of this study was to find out whether size of female influences preference of male choice in mating and courting time.
Methods
    50 female flat lizards (Platysaurus
oadleyi) from Augrabies Falls National Park, South Africa is used for study
Female lizard are kept in aquarium for 4 days and well fed prior to mating with males
Small and large sized females segregated and placed two females one from each group within range of wild male lizards
Chamber is controlled for female as it cannot move but males can move through three discrete sections of chamber to record latency to court for analysis
Conclusion
By using the data and graphical analysis(fig.2) we observe the size of female plays a vital role in mating, as males got attracted more towards large size females than small ones.
The uniform distribution of latency to court female for copulation is observed among small sized females but in large size it is consuming more time due to competence from other males. So we conclude males are prefe
ing large size females to pass on genes to produce strong & healthy off springs.

Results
Figure 3 gives a big difference in latency to court among large female size
Paired t-test gives us significant result on influence of small and large female size in mating choice. (p<0.001)

large size female is higher when

prefer small size female for mating and
its courting time is less due to low
