and in the world. Continuous innovation is another major factor that lead to company’s success. The company has been in the forefront innovation in automobile industry. Toyota was the first global automobile manufacture that introduced lean manufacturing method in manufacturing, this was known as Toyota Production System . This new method is faster and more efficient process that results less waste compared to the traditional batch and que method of production. It has also applied Just in Time Manufacturing (JIT). Introduction of lean manufacturing method has helped the company achieve efficiency in manufacturing and other production process and reduce the average cost of production. This has give the company competitive advantage in the market and helped the company to become number two position in the global market.
The Company
Toyota the 7th largest company and world second largest car manufacturing firm in the world. At Toyota Employees have two roles: one is their own and assurance of quality. Toyota invented the concept of just in time commonly know as JIT in the year 1938.( Chiarini, A., & Vagnoni, E. (2015). ) The objective of this new concepts was not only reduce the quantity of inventory but to reduce the quantity of inventory with defects that would have been written off or co
ect. Building up of large stock with many defect had resulted in the increase the manufacturing cost. The concept of just in time has helped the company save this wasteful cost. Just in Time and this culture of quality evolved into the Toyota Production System and its more generic equivalent, Lean Manufacturing, which is the benchmark for manufacturing organisations across the globe.     Toyota Production system is the adoption of method of lean manufacturing to achieve efficiency in manufacturing, sales and after sales service.
Moving the assembly unit is Kaizan from the concept of the move the metal. This has helped the Toyota to have manufacturing base at the centre of market. Souring of raw materials and sending to depot and despatching it to the required market at cost effective way. Lean manufacturing stopped assembly lines in order to co
ect problem in manufacturing instead of continuing with the problems. As a result of shift of manufacturing point to Kaizan quality improves and resulted un yield reaching 100%. (Chiarini, A., & Vagnoni, E. (2015).)
As a part of the introduction of lean manufacturing there were innovation in product development and changes in engineering. This change has focussed on management staff that new all steps of a process rather than staff with highly specialized skills, knowledge.
