on television, in the newspaper, on the Web, and in magazines. This assignment is
to evaluate what an article or news story has to do with economics. Please
present a short (1 page at least 400 words but no more than 500 words) briefing
on a selected article or topic.The
article needs to be recent--not older than 90 days.Do not use Wikipedia, About.com, or similar

Introduction 
I choose the news (or article) based on proposed federal policy namely „buffet rule‟ and is

This rule has been named after American investor „Warren Buffet‟ who publically applauded the 
idea of collecting more taxes from rich peoples (like him). He disagreed with rich people (like 
him) who are paying less federal tax (as a proportion of income) than the middle class. The bill 
was introduced into the senate on April 16, 2012 but was blocked by republicans and did not get 
through due to lack of 9 votes of the 60 votes needed pass the bill. The republicans argued that 
raising taxes would negatively impacts job growth and therefore they do not allow it to get 
through.
