The theories of ethics relevant to business environment are Utilitarianism and Kant's
Categorical Imperative or Kantianism. Utilitarianism focuses on utility that crosses time and
orders and human welfare. Kantianism focuses on motivation to discharge a responsibility. The
similarity between the two theories – Utilitarianism and Kantianism - is universality.
Utilitarianism calls for the best consequences at the least cost. Kantianism refers to the formula
of universal law and the formula of the end itself (Beauchamp, et. al., 2008).
