Researchers have claimed that, they can present several irresistible proofs according to 
which it can be established that  people from minor communities (such as; Hispanics) are prone 
to achieve poorer quality health care in comparison to White Americans. In fact, this kind of 
claims cannot be rejected since; there might be several factors which may be termed responsible 
for such pitiable health outcomes.  
 As said by Liao et al. (2011), inhabitants in maximum minority communities usually 
belong to low socio-economical status  as a consequence of which, they are more likely to have  
poorer access up to health care facilities, and larger risks for disease burden in comparison to the 
general populations residing at same place. Benz et al. (2011) also favor this thought via 
presenting the rationale: “Obstructions to testing and lack of awareness compounded by 
socioeconomic and cultural issues can lead towards such discrepancies”. 
 Analysis of Mary (also known as; Typhoid Mary) Mallon’s case can give us an idea how 
these factors perform important roles in generation of poor health care outcomes. Mary Mallon 
had to suffer for a long period because of her poor health literacy. In fact, owing to her deprived 
socio-economic background, she could not get proper health education, and on account of her 
cultural values, she always believed that (i) she has lived a decent and upright life so; she cannot 
be the victim of any illness like; typhoid, and (ii) she cannot spread it as well. According to her, 
to transmit a disease, it is compulsory to be victim first.
