At the supermarket, where I used to work as a part-time employee, several health and safety laws issued by the Environment Protection Agency, U.S (EPA) were followed. One of them is EPAs Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act (FFDCA) (2002), according to which the tolerance level or the maximum limit of the residue for any pesticides in food are all pre-determined (US Small Business Administration, 2019). Hence, if the pesticide residue is found to be more that that set level stated then that commodity is seized by the government (EPA, 2002).
