Do you believe a flat tax with no itemized deductions is politically feasible for the United States? Why

Simpler taxes have many benefits. This holds true not just for the United States but almost everywhere 
in the world.  
A simplified tax system reduces the taxpayer’s cost of compliance with the system in terms of money, 
time and effort. It reduces unintentional tax evasion, and improves the perception of the tax system in 
the eyes of tax payers.
