Uriniferous tubule may be defined as; the fundamental unit of kidney which is composed
of nephron and collecting duct. In fact, collecting duct might receive urine from numerous
nephrons and can further ca
y it via renal pyramid to renal pelvis. A
ief description of nephron
and collecting duct can be presented as follows:
Nephron
Nephron consists of following parts:
Renal Corpuscle
Nephron starts as a cup-like structure known as; Bowman’s capsule. It encloses a bunch
of capillaries; glomerulus. Both of above structures form renal corpuscle. Entry of blood occurs
into glomerulus with the help of an afferent arteriole and it can further leave through efferent
arteriole. The diameter of efferent arteriole is less than afferent one and because of this
difference, there could be observed increment in blood pressure in glomerulus as a consequence
of which, blood can move via glomerulus and thus; may lose water, glucose and electrolytes to
capsule through filtration.
This procedure is assisted by capillary walls and inner wall of Bowman’s capsule. The
capillary wall consists of porous endothelial cells and the inner section of Bowman’s capsule
may wrap each capillary by a sheet of podocytes means; cell body with numerous foot-like
pedicels....
