Introduction
Research methods are an interchangeable process that has specific objectives to be met in the research process. The method that will be utilized by the researcher should depend on the design decision so that the design can be refined. Research methodologies can be of three types which the researcher can utilize. Considering the budget of the project, the qualitative and quantitative methods are selected based on the project design. The main purpose of utilizing this technique helps in obtaining insights at a deeper level that will be exploratory in nature.
It will also play statistical evidence in supporting the research design (Abildgaard, Saksvik & Nielsen, 2016). Further, the qualitative, mixed and quantitative methods help in answering questions related to who, when, where, what, how and why based on the experiences and behaviour of the researcher. The cu
ent study will evaluate the co
ect utilization of research methods in collecting data for evaluating the resource management strategy within organization.
Research methodologies
The qualitative method is used in any research that helps in gathering insights and feedback for a smaller group of participants. The qualitative methods that are utilized in the research process include semi-structured or unstructured interviews, focus group studies and ethnographic studies. The capabilities of the qualitative method include use of validated concepts, observation of the emotional response and immediate reactions (Abildgaard et al., 2016).
In this kind of process, the researcher observes the tone, the facial expression, including the body language for the collection of data. It also helps in uncovering unexpected opportunities so that it can add value to the research. However, there are certain limitations in the qualitative method. This includes a limited sample size, inconsistent capture of data. The quantitative methods of help in gathering insights depend on the range and size of the user groups. In case quantitative method the range of user group can be expanded (Bansal, Smith & Vaara, 2018).
